5th – 7th November
Last couple of days in Asia!!
Flying back to Singapore for a couple of days, I was determined to have a blast this time round. I knew where I was going, what to expect and felt like a more worldly traveller at that point, bring it on!

I found my way and checked into the Happy Snail hostel, a tiny cute little place downtown. I was pretty late so just grabbed food nearby and planned my next day, I wanted to do the treetop canopy walk in the tiny bit of natural rainforest remaining on the island. A lad in the hostel was planning the same thing, so we planned to go together.
A trek to trek in the jungle, with no rooftop canopy walk ☹️
The bus was a mission to get out to the start of the trek, it took nearly an hour! I was expecting this to be the nice tranquil part of Singapore, getting far out of the city & back to nature, I was wrong. It was super busy with tourists left right and centre. When we eventually got to the treetop canopy boardwalk there was a HUGE queue that was going to take 45 mins to get through. Nah, no way were we enjoying nature in that way. So after thinking about doing this for a couple of months and getting this close, I gave up 😂. We went on a lovely long walk around the rainforest area instead (way less busy), and took a look up a viewing tower to see the canopy instead.

It was the Hindu festival of Deepvali that weekend and a few from the hostel were heading to Little India to check out the celebrations, so we decided to join. It was a little disappointing, not as much going on as we thought, but still lots of lights up and we got amazing Indian food from a hawker hall.

Last day ending at Raffles
My last day I decided to have to myself. I went to Sentosa at first to check out the beaches, but got caught in a mall on the way through (set up purposely so people do just that), where I tried on some dresses to start getting in the Christmas spirit! Fun girly time, I then hit the beach in Sentosa, had an ice cream and wandered over a bridge to a little island that claimed to be the most southern point of mainland SE Asia.

I then took the bus to Kampong Glam, the Arabic area of the city I was recommended to check out. I was thorough surprised! I wandered into some grand bar/ art gallery by accident first, which was pretty cool and magnificent, and then had a wander round the area. It’s a small area, but has great Arabic food and a really cool street with lots of quirky shops & bars. I had a matcha sundae there that was literally the best thing I have ever eaten 🤤, so amazing!!!

I then rushed back to get dressed up for the rooftop bar at raffles place, a must do in Singapore! (According to the fam). Wednesday was ladies night, so it was free entry and a menu of $10 drinks – bargain for a prestigious place! I just managed to squeeze in a couple of cocktails as the sun was setting, what an awesome last night!

I then rushed back to grab my stuff and dash to the airport for my night flight to Darwin. Bye Bye Asia, Hello Australia!! 🇦🇺
